One broker for your business, your home, your cottage and your family.
Most business owners have the company insured in one place, the house and cars in another, and the cottage somewhere else. The problems hide in the gaps between those policies. Steve Chittick insures all of it together and checks that the pieces line up.

The overlap
Where the gaps usually are
When your business and your family are insured separately, each policy assumes the other one has it covered. These are the spots Steve checks first.
-
Equipment or stock at home
Home policies often limit or exclude business property. Tools in the garage or inventory in the basement may not be covered by either policy.
-
A personal vehicle used for work
If the insurer thinks the truck is for commuting and it’s really going to job sites, that can become a problem at claim time.
-
Property owned through a company
When a holding company owns the building or the cottage, the name on the policy has to match. It often doesn’t.
-
Umbrella limits that don’t line up
An umbrella only sits on top of the policies it’s written to follow. Add a rental, a boat or a new company, and it can quietly fall out of step.
-
Family devices used for the business
The laptop at the kitchen table that handles client files is a cyber exposure. Most home policies weren’t built for that.
-
A cottage rented out in summer
Airbnb or weekly rentals change what the cottage policy needs to cover. If the insurer doesn’t know about it, a claim can be denied.

One broker, both sides
Your business and your family, insured as one picture
The truck that goes to job sites, the stock in the garage, the building your holding company owns, the cottage you rent out in July. Steve looks at the business policies and the family policies together, so nothing falls between them.

Steve and the team at Moller have been amazing to deal with. I was in a mess with the MTO and had to resort to facility insurance. (If you know, you know) the incredible amount of detail, time and just all around know how in no exaggeration, saved my business. I will NEVER look for, or switch to another provider. I'm a lifer!!

Steve was able to secure coverage for our construction company when other insurance agencies were telling us they couldn't renew our policy. Steve was very thorough and his attention to detail and constant communication made our transition to Moller Insurance seamless and painless. Thanks Steve!!

About Steve
A broker who knows the business and the family
Steve Chittick has been an insurance broker for 17 years. He works with Moller Insurance and is based in Burlington, with clients across Halton, Muskoka and the rest of Ontario.
His work centres on commercial insurance (fleets, D&O, E&O and cyber) and on high-value homes and cottages, usually for the same families. Clients stay because he explains things plainly, gets back to them quickly, and tells them when something isn’t covered.
